wibble wobble, wibble wobble...

...jelly on the plate.

just listed these vintage jelly moulds in the sianuskavintage shop. one round, one oval, both in the classic wibble-wobble shape as seen in cartoons and your childhood birthday party photos. i wonder why this shape became the shape for jelly moulds, to accentuate the quiver?
have you seen these amazing wibble-y creations and installations by bompas and parr, the UK's foremost jellymongers (excellent job title!).

how the other half live...

just added this triptych of etchings to the sianuskavintage shop. they depict the world famous British public school Eton college, where the government went... the local comp it ain't!

the sky's beginning to bruise...

one for my favourite quotes from 'withnail and i'. i've just listed this lovely 1920s landscape painting in the sianuskavintage shop.

art deco dance magazine for sale on etsy

i'm in the process of listing my friend's great grandmother's collection of beautifully illustrated 1920s 'dancing world' magazines. amazing art deco illustrations, gorgeous flapper style costumes and nostalgic content. these would look so fab framed in a group. some are available for sale here. they take an absolute age to list, contact me if you see something you'd like to purchase that isn't listed.

new in the sianuskavintage shop

i've really neglected the vintage shop since o-o dropped his nap, there's just no time to list but i've just added these treasures if you'd like to take a look...
beautiful linen hankies for when irish eyes aren't smiling...
 cute little elephant money box
splendidly retro wood jigsaw puzzle from holland
i'll try to add more things soon, the loft is literally choc-a-bloc with stuff. now i'm off to sort out the plan chest, who knows what lurks within those cluttered drawers.

cross my palm with silver

i've just added this gloriously retro-covered 1970s guide to tea cup fortune telling to the sianuskavintage shop. complete with rather ambiguous illustrations, perhaps it's time to ditch the tea bags and turn over an old (tea) leaf?

feeling knackered and a bit uninspired hence my blog silence. here's hoping you're more full o' beans than i am...

i is for igloo...

just added this vintage shop sign letter i to the sianuskavintage shop. it used to be illuminated with neon so it makes a fab lamp, just add fairy lights! mount it horizontally as a home for your lucky waving cat. this animated gif is an improvement on the last one but still - must. find. tripod.

making a splash

sick of those modern swim caps that make you look like you've got a condom on your head? treat yourself to this 1970s flower power beauty and be the envy of all your friends at the pool. with thanks to the lovely pea for being my model. how cute are her freckles? i'm jealous!

atomic chairs

i've just added these lovely little chairs to the shop. it's a bit of a wrench for me to sell them. i love the shape and the patterned vinyl (wish i could have a dress in the yellow!). alas we have far, far too many chairs and are constantly tripping over them...

for services to housewifery...

do you know someone who dusts places that no one will ever see? someone who irons sheets? someone who hoovers their carpet in to neatly regimented stripes? perhaps they deserve to be awarded a badge for services to housekeeping? nursing patches also available.

hidden

yikes, my mum was throwing out a table we've had since i was a tiddler. she's very unsentimental about that sort of thing, i, on the other hand, am a soppy old hoarder so i decided to bring it back to our house and do it up. anyways, when i removed the base (you know how thorough i am, remember the epic door painting project?) i found this dress folded up in the hollow upright section. i feel bad just binning it but i want rid of it as soon as possible so i'm listing it for a snip in my etsy vintage shop. here's the listing. please take it away.

*** 19th of july. the little dress has found a new home, posted it off to faraway shores this morning, phew! ***

on a side note, i thought i might coat the top of the table with blackboard paint, what do you think? i am rather obsessed with the stuff and fear once i start i will be unable to stop. o-o would be delighted with a blackboard painted home as he loves to draw on the walls & furniture, that's mostly what he's up to when he goes all quiet...

housewife photoshoot

have been prancing about in my approximation of 1950s housewife garb taking photos for some new sianuskavintage listings. what fun! sinister kite apron is here. portuguese apron is here. both ideal for serving refreshing drinks to you summertime guests!

ailurophobia

cats = je n'aime pas. i do, however, like hand knitted jumpers with wonky stitches made by old ladies. this little beauty is in the shop now.
