bah humbug

new in the etsy and folksy shops bah humbug christmas cards. hate the tinsel, the fallen pine needles all over the carpet and the endless cliff richard yuletide anthems playing on loop? these cards are the perfect antidote to all that festive cheer!

i'm, starting to feel quite christmas-y. heard the choir in our local church singing fairytale of new york as i walked past this morning. best christmas song EVER...

woolens

i received this cardigan in the post this morning. m bought me a howies gift certificate for my birthday in march and i've been waiting to spend it ever since. at last it is autumn/winter and they have some woolens in stock. the summery, strappy, surfer girl things don't really suit a book worm. also, my legs are so pale as to be virtually glow-in-the-dark. the cardigan is super cosy, feels like something my gran might've worn during the war, i consider this to be a good thing.

what about you? have you invested in any new winter clothes?

off now to make a brew and luxuriate in the peace and quiet of o-o's midday nap.

brilliant birta and boo!

huge congratulations to brilliant birta on being featured in 'shorties', the best of the observer graphic short story prize (she's on page 90). here's a bit of her 'acorn for a heart' story, you can see the rest on the observer/guardian website or here. i love the intricate line work and the magical narrative, such an inspiration. revel in your well deserved acclaim b!

while his ma readies her web presence for some serious cyber footfall l-man has been enjoying static-y haired times hiding under the blanket with o-o.

cross my palm with silver

i've just added this gloriously retro-covered 1970s guide to tea cup fortune telling to the sianuskavintage shop. complete with rather ambiguous illustrations, perhaps it's time to ditch the tea bags and turn over an old (tea) leaf?

feeling knackered and a bit uninspired hence my blog silence. here's hoping you're more full o' beans than i am...
